Solar-Powered Hummus

The Yummy’s Choice kitchen is now operating on power from the sun. A 25 kw solar power station was added to the roof of the building and was put on line October 6, 2013. The system is tied into the regional power grid through Kansas City Power & Light and is net metered. Our most recent electric power bill was $16. As of this posting (April 2014), 8,551.50 kg of CO2 has been avoided. Regular updates are posted on our facebook page at facebook.com/yummyschoice and guest access to our monitor portal is available on request.
